Dr. Dearden graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. After being an associate veterinarian for a number of years and developing a wonderful clientele, she purchased the practice from Dr. K.C. Nayfield. Since becoming a veterinarian at Midway Animal Hospital, she has developed special interests in internal medicine and abdominal ultrasonograghy. She is married and has a handsome son. She also shares her home with several big dogs.
Dr. Inoue is a wealth of knowledge and experience at Midway Animal Hospital. She is a 1993 high honors graduate of the University of Illinois.
A long list of accomplishments follows her, to name a few she is a Boarded Equine Surgeon, has a BS with honors in Natural Science-Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin, an MS with high honors in Veterinary Pathobiology-Molecular Microbiology from the University of Illinois, Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Acupuncture, as well as impressive lists of Research, Scholarly Writings, Professional Presentations, Teaching and Work Experience.
Dr. Olivia is a true and dedicated lover of all creatures. She has numerous special needs cats, she calls her own. Her professional special Interests are in Ophthalmology, Lameness, and Acupuncture.
In her off time, she enjoys Florida living, sewing, jewelry making and bead work, she also enjoys working in her yard and is most happy simply just enjoying the great outdoors.

Dr. Peterlin has been an important part of Midway’s evolution, he is well known and respected by our pets, clients and our team members for his dedication and thorough knowledge. His patience is something that stands out to everyone. Dr. Peterlin is a United States Navy Veteran and enjoys spending time in the Florida Keys, sailing his boat, and nature walks with his beautiful wife.
Stacie has been a devoted Midway girl since 2002. She enjoys ranch life with her horses, goats, Dogs, cats and chickens. Stacie is very creative and enjoys travel, equestrian sports, RV ing, boating, fishing, biking, nature and spending time with family and friends. With a special interest in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, Stacie works closely with wildlife rescue groups. She is our go to gal for all things wild whether they have fur, feathers, scales or armor. Her leadership to our team is above and beyond. If there is help needed, Stacie is always there jumping into whatever situation she’s needed and is a natural teacher. She plays a very big role behind the scenes and we are appreciative of the hard work and dedication she puts in.
Danielle joined the Midway team in 1994. She has grown along with the practice and has joined our management team. She is a talented veterinary technician and continually helps provide guidance and support to our veterinary technician team. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to work with animals. Her passion has always been senior pet rescue. Before she came to the animal world, Danielle was a Firefighter. She really enjoys spending time outside of work with her wonderful husband and their two beautiful children. Danielle’s hobbies are camping and bike riding.
Laura graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She started her technician career in Wisconsin in mixed animal practice, then transitioned to equine-only clinics. After a few years, she moved to veterinary product sales. She is happy to now be back where she started, working with the owners and patients here at Midway Animal Hospital. In her spare time, she loves to garden, tend to her flowers and even does bee keeping.
Amie joined the Midway team in April 2012. You can find her as you walk in our doors, working reception. She is always smiling and making our guests feel welcome. She really enjoys working with everyone because: “We all take pride in what we do and the staff treats you like family.” She enjoys animals and all wildlife. Seeing our clients leave happy knowing their pet has been well taken care of makes her happy! She has an adorable daughter. She loves boating and being near the beach, whether it be fishing, snorkeling, or soaking up the sun, this girl always gives 100% and believes in living life to the fullest every day!
Cindy is a long time member of Midway’s team. Cindy loves sea turtles and all things Disney. She has lots of experience in the Veterinary field, a special interest in ultrasonography, an awesome sense of humor. Cindy is always making us laugh around the hospital and is a true Gem who always shares her joyful and grateful sentiments . Cindy has a sweet, little, teeny, tiny, itty bitty Chihuahua named Minnie that we all love to take turns holding.
Ally is so much fun! She loves to talk about animals, so much so that she previously was a public educator at a sea turtle rescue in south Florida. Ally is a talented nature photographer, scuba diver, fisherwoman and painter. This young lady does not shy away from a challenge or an animal in need. She has several pets, most of which were rescued including, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians and a dog. Ally recently came with her husband to Florida from Ohio where she was raised on a farm. Her professional interests include ophthalmology, pet nutrition and exotic animal care and husbandry.
Doreen is our lab guru, and has been at Midway since 2002. She has three children, and two grandchildren. She enjoys going camping, boating, playing softball, bowling and working with animals. Doreen has a few very important roles here at Midway making sure our lab is running strong and training new technicians helping them to perfect their skills. Doreen’s son serves in our US Military, thank you to him and all the brave men and women who serve!
Cheryl joined the Midway team as a technician in 2014. She has become a reassuring, familiar presence to many of our long time patients. Cheryl moved to Florida from Delaware with her husband to enjoy our beautiful outdoor weather and activities. Cheryl says; “I’m one of those lucky people who get to do what they love every day; working with animals and the people who love them- there’s nothing better.”
Debbie was drawn to the field of Veterinary Medicine because of her passion for helping animals and the people who love them. You will find Debbie working in our surgical suite beside our Veterinarians. She utilizes her skills in advanced dentistry, general surgery, radiology and assisting Dr. Nayfield during orthopedic surgery. Debbie’s great knowledge and dedication is a huge asset to our surgical team. She has a son who also follows her passion for animals.
Jen is a life time animal lover, right out of high school she got her foot in the door with a Veterinarian, started working with animals and never looked back. Jen has pursued much schooling in animal science and has worked in Emergency medicine, mixed animal practice, exotics, as well as eastern and western animal medicine. Jen knows lots of tricks of the trade and is amazing with even the crabbiest of crabby cats. Jen has lots of interests, she is a gamer and likes drawing, painting, and outdoor activities like hiking and swimming. Jen may look like a youngster, but you may be surprised to know this granny actually has 3 beautiful grand babies.
Theresa was born in Ohio and called Beautiful Colorado home for 33 years. Sunny Florida was fortunate enough to welcome her in 2020. Theresa has a heart for animals and people and often shares adoration for her sweet husband, two children, one lucky dog and five cats. She loves being outdoors, camping, bicycling, hiking, kayaking, and gardening. Her quiet time is spent reading, drawing or painting. Theresa has a love for music and we sometimes catch her singing while she works. Theresa is pictured here with her magnificent Arabian stallion, Hassan.
Brandie originates from Charleston South Carolina. She received her medical education in attendance at ACT and Concord Universities. Over the past 5 years as a Veterinary Technician, Brandie has built her skills with a wide variety animals in many aspects of veterinary care. While she has a true love for all creatures, she can easily list her favorites: Owl, Pitbull, Sphinx cat, Cardinal, Turtle and the American Bully. Brandie loves to bake, do arts and crafts and believes in self-care. Brandie is a mother of four, her love for her children is a constant driving force to set a good example and be humble.
Keirsten says that animal care isn’t just a job its a passion! She looks forward to work every day and is eager to learn and grow in the animal industry. It is a goal of Keirsten’s to one day become a Veterinarian with hopes to attend the University of Florida. Her interests are broad ranging from small animal internal medicine to Equine surgery and acupuncture. Keirsten and her fiancé have 4 dogs, 3 cats, and 8 chickens. Keirsten loves a good adventure and is interested in drag racing.
Ozzy aka Ozz man has been the ruler of the roost since he came to us in February of 2011. He loves to get into things and make all kinds of friends. His favorite thing is drinking running water out of the faucet and playing with paper balls. Ozzy is living the good life here as a blood donor cat. His purpose is to step in take action and save a life if the situation arose.
Solly came to us in September of 2018. He has really made this place his home. He is usually spread out on someones desk, causing trouble all day!!! 🙂 He will also steal your food if you not looking. Ozzie and Solly have become great friends. Solly is a great addition to our family!
